The appointment begins September 1, 2022 and may be renewed annually pending successful review.
The position involves a six-course teaching load per year (two courses each per ten-week trimester) that includes physical chemistry courses with associated laboratory components and contributions to the first year chemistry curriculum; upper level elective courses in candidate’s area of expertise possible. Our ACS-certified chemistry department and biochemistry program have excellent instrumentation and offer strong BA and BS degrees in chemistry and biochemistry. Professional development opportunities for the candidate include mentoring in teaching and undergraduate research in a supportive community of nine faculty in the chemistry department and biochemistry program (including five women), a stockroom manager and chemical hygiene officer, a laboratory coordinator, and a science technician.
Knox College is an independent, selective liberal arts institution with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
