    The Lundquist College of Business is one of seven schools housing academic programs on the University of Oregon campus. Located 110 miles south of Portland, the University of Oregon has an enrollment of over 25,000.     Position Summary
    This position is responsible for the management and implementation of student services for the graduate programs within the Lundquist College of Business. Currently, the Assistant Director is the primary academic advisor for MSF students and provides PhD students with academic support and guidance, however, as additional graduate programs are launched, the portfolio of advisees could change. The Assistant Director is integral in decisions regarding course waivers, the fulfillment of departmental course prerequisites and requirements, and the implementation of policies related to academic performance and probation.

    This position will work closely with the Associate Director of Graduate Student Experience and the Senior Associate Dean of Faculty and Research to ensure a high-quality experience for incoming and current students and will provide support and context for applying complex student services to the organization's management, faculty, and students.

    The Lundquist College of Business' Office of Advising and Student Experience is dedicated to providing a professional yet vibrant experience for our undergraduate and graduate student communities. The Assistant Director of Graduate Student Experience will have the opportunity to work with a team of staff and faculty that is dedicated to the success of graduate students from the time they enter our programs up to and including the time that they become alumni.

    This is a full-time, 12-month Officer of Administration position that reports to the Associate Director of Graduate Student Experience.     Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of experience in student/client customer services

    Professional Competencies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong office applications and database management skills
  • Ability to travel as needed (domestic and international travel)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and effective manner with faculty, administrators, students, alumni, and business people at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques
  • Knowledge of university-specific computer application programs and knowledge of university procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of post-degree employment opportunities and practices for students graduating from a business school

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business or equivalent from an AACSB accredited institution
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education
