The College of Engineering at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon is seeking an Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Assessment.

 This new and exciting position will be an integral member of the College of Engineering’s Undergraduate Programs and will work with programs within CoE to evaluate and prioritize assessment and evaluation activities in response to College information supporting accreditation requirements. A critical member of CoE Undergraduate Programs, the Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Assessment will:

  • Work with units and programs to strategize, organize, and implement curricular changes that align with best-practices, while taking into consideration programs’ individual strengths and identity, accreditation and compliance requirements, educational best-practices, and resource optimization characteristics. The ADCA will provide oversight and facilitate operations for the Interdisciplinary Curriculum Committee, responsible for representing Engineering Science courses and the OSU-Cascade’s campus curricula (in Bend), and will also oversee the College of Engineering Curriculum Committee responsible for curriculum and course compliance.
  • Lead the scheduling strategy of all unique, respective course sections with a team of College schedulers and the School Heads to minimize scheduling conflicts for students, optimize teaching resources, and manage course size populations through forecasting of instructional needs within each program.
  • Lead the assessment strategy and implementation for CoE’s programs. Aligning best-practices for assessment, along with stakeholder needs at both the University and Program levels while both optimizing resource use and ensuring efficient and effective integration of teaching practices and the evaluation of outcomes. 

The College of Engineering is the largest college at Oregon State University, with over a third of its Corvallis campus students. It is the 10th largest undergraduate engineering program in the nation by enrollment, is 1st in the number of computer science bachelor’s degrees awarded, and 2nd in the percentage of women faculty among highly research-active universities.
