Key Position Information:
BASIC FUNCTION:

Requires flexibility to work days, evenings and weekends. Excellent communication skills (written/verbal). Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office products and ability to use a learning management system (Brightspace, D2L), strong networking and people skills, team focus, willingness to assist with non-credit/continuing education classes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teach in a collaborative environment with fellow instructors.
  • Follow established course goals and learning objectives.
  • Observe and evaluate students' work to determine student progress or make suggestions for improvement.
  • Observe all college policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development.
  • Be able to work effectively to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Follow and maintain stated professional standards and conduct for students and classroom as set forth by the program/college/profession.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have an AS-EMS or other health program, strongly prefer Bachelor's degree in a health related field as well.

Certification Requirements:

Must fulfil the requirements of FAC 64J-1.0201 https://www.flrules.org/gateway/RuleNo.asp?title=Emergency%20Medical%20Services&ID=64J-1.0201

Must be current AHA BLS and ACLS Provider. AHA Instructor certification preferred.

NAEMT provider certification in PHTLS and EPC preferred. NAEMT instructor certification in PHTLS and EPC strongly preferred.

Requirements::
Education:

Experience:

Related teaching experience at the college level preferred.
