    Position Summary
    The quality assurance specialist ensures quality of the many software systems produced by ECS. To do this effectively, the person in this position needs to learn how our systems work and think creatively about how we can improve our systems and our processes.

    The quality assurance specialist is constantly learning, faced with and expected to overcome tough and interesting challenges, and must be unafraid to ask for help when hitting a wall. As a member of a tight-knit team, constant improvement is central to all our work. The person in this position should be curious, questioning, and collaborative.

    As a member of the Quality Assurance team, the quality assurance specialist focuses on executing test plans and analyzing the results in order to communicate them to stakeholders. They conduct white box and black box testing to identify defects and optimization issues. They also assist in designing and implementing test writing strategies and work with development teams to ensure quality software throughout the software development life cycle.

    The quality assurance specialist reports to the Director of Application Development.

    Minimum Requirements
    Basic foundation of knowledge and skills of technology and information systems as generally obtained through an associate degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified course work in applicable fields of study and at least one year of related work experience.

  • Ability to develop and automate test plans for multiple web applications.
