Job Summary: The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Florida Southern College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.  

The position will begin in August, 2022. Review starts immediately.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

1. Teaching courses in the master’s program in I/O psychology (MSIO) and select undergraduate classes in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences.  The courses will include teaching in the MSIO research methods and statistics sequence as part of a 3-3 course load.

2. Mentorship of collaborative student research.

3. Participation in service support activities for the MSIO program (e.g., admissions committee, student recruitment events), the department, and the college.

4. Student advising at both the graduate and undergraduate level with an emphasis on assisting students interested in the MSIO program.

5. Maintaining a scholarly agenda and developing a clear research trajectory as part of the tenure and promotion process.

 

Education and Work Experience:

1. Ph.D. in Psychology is required (Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology preferred).

2. Experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses with a demonstrated commitment to excellence and innovation in methods of engaged learning and the use of instructional technology.

3. A strong quantitative background and teaching knowledge of statistics.  Experience with SPSS, JASP, R, Python, and/or other statistical software should be noted in the application.

4. Scholarly accomplishments that are relevant to the position.
