College Relations Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION(S):

Provide year-round administration and coordination to the Precollege Program - Women, Gender and Representation (WGR). Create an academically rounded program through diverse course offerings and extra-curricular activities. Teach one course during the program. Provide oversight on-campus when the program runs during the months of June, July, and August.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Year-round:
  • Teach one course during the summer program.

  • Act as liaison for year-round Crash Course offering, when applicable.

  • Recruit and identify faculty to teach for the program.

  • Support faculty/program instructors both year-round and during the program.

  • Ensure course offerings are designed for high school students.

  • Write descriptions for marketing materials and website.

  • Review application admission files during application season.

  • Interview Classroom Assistants and send out offer letters with the Program Director.

  • Use clear, ongoing communication with Instructors and Classroom Assistants.

  • Oversee and coordinate the academic training for Classroom Assistants.

  • Serve as point-person to connect faculty to resources, including tech support during the program.

  • Help with classroom assignment administration.

  • Communicate with parents and high school students/participants about academic questions and concerns.

During the program:
  • Be on campus when the program is running Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.

  • Attend lunch during the day to connect with students and instructors.

  • Meet with Director and Residential Manager about students’ residential and classroom issues.

  • Substitute for instructors and Classroom Assistants, when needed.

  • Drive campus vehicles for program field trips, when applicable.

  • V isit classrooms once per session; talk with undergraduate interns after each visit.

  • Attend presentations and dress rehearsals.

  • Organize and attend talks, evening presentations and field trips.

  • Organize course evaluation administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Master’s degree and 5+ years of experience teaching high school or college-level classes. Administrative experience required.
