The Department of English at Mercyhurst University (Erie, PA) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in of multi-ethnic and multicultural literatures, specific area of specialization open.  The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels. Candidates should have at least three years of successful teaching experience and should be dedicated to teaching undergraduates in our liberal arts core, major, and minor courses.  Standard contracts at the university run 9 months (August 15-May 15) with 12-credit hours per semester load. Additional responsibilities include student advising, participation in active recruitment, and active university/community engagement.

 

A Ph.D. is required. Exceptional ABD candidates with a documented plan of completion date prior to start date will be considered.
