The Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the Eli Broad College of Business is seeking applications for a fixed term academic specialist with responsibilities as a communications specialist supporting both the M.S. in Accounting (MSA) and the M.S. in Business Data Science & Analytics (MSBDSA) programs.

 

Position Summary

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the Eli Broad College of Business is seeking applications for a fixed term academic specialist with responsibilities as a communications specialist supporting both the M.S. in Accounting (MSA) and the M.S. in Business Data Science & Analytics (MSBDSA) programs. This position would work with the Director of the Ernst & Young Communication Center (EYCC) that currently supports the MSA program. The primary advising responsibilities include working with students in both programs to develop their skills in business writing, public speaking, teamwork, resume development, and interviewing. Additional duties include developing and delivering an MSBDSA communications course once a year plus curriculum development such as assisting in the development of best practice communication tools, resources, videos, guest lectures and workshops. 

 

This is a nine-month appointment. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in communications, english or a related field, at least two years’ prior experience working in a communications center, and demonstrated record of excellent teaching skills to a diverse student body. There are no research requirements for this position. The position will start January 1, 2022. Renewal may be possible based on department needs, funding, and performance. Salary and terms are negotiable depending on experience and rank.

 

Minimum Required Degree

Ph.D. in communications, English, or a related field

At least two years’ prior experience working in a communications center

Demonstrated record of excellent teaching skills to a diverse student body
