The Modern Languages Program at the University of Central Missouri invites applications for a tenure-track position in Spanish, effective August 2022. Applicants must be committed to undergraduate education and demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and research. We are seeking teacher-scholars with an open specialization. The position involves teaching Spanish courses at all levels from the beginning level through Conversation, Composition, among others. The candidate will be active in continuing to grow the program that may include developing service-learning courses, leading study tours, having an interdisciplinary teaching focus, and mentoring students. The faculty member’s responsibilities will also include engaging in service at the department and university levels and maintaining an active research agenda. The nominal teaching load for tenure track appointments is 4-4. Education & Formal Training Doctorate degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training
Ph.D. in Spanish or a closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered, but if they do not hold the Ph.D. at the time of hire, they will be appointed as a Visiting Instructor until their Ph.D. is completed. Computer Skills Class Management Software Experience
