The University of North Florida, College of Education and Human
Services, is seeking an Instructor in the Department of Teaching,
Learning, and Curriculum. The position is a non-tenure earning,
full-time, multi-year faculty appointment. Candidates must have
earned an advanced degree (master’s or higher) from a regionally
accredited institution in elementary education, early childhood
education, or a related discipline. In addition, the candidate will
engage in other instructional duties within the College’s education
programs, including supervision of student teacher pre-interns and
interns. The specific instructional responsibilities will be
determined in accordance with the needs of the Department and the
College and the instructor’s areas of expertise. Involvement in
relevant professional service at the local, regional or national
level will be expected.
Basic Requirements: The position requirements include an earned masters or doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in an area appropriate to the position. The candidate should have at least three years of teaching experience with children PreK through grade 6 in a school. The candidate should be able to teach course that address foundations of teacher preparation, teaching the whole child, and/or social justice education.
Preferred Requirements: Candidates who have three years of full-time experience or the equivalent teaching culturally, linguistically, and/or socioeconomically diverse learners in a school setting will be given preference. Candidates who have earned or are eligible for the Florida K-12 Reading Endorsement will be given preference. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in supervision and coaching of teachers and teacher candidates. Preference will also be given to candidates with teaching experience in higher education settings.
Salary is negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience. The starting date is August 1, 2022. Initial review of applications will begin on November 29, 2021.
