United States International University-Africa is a dually-accredited, private University in Nairobi that offers its students an outstanding experience grounded in academic excellence and global outlook. Our mission is to promote the discovery and application of knowledge, as well as the development of skills and values that will prepare our students to succeed as ethical contributors in a rapidly changing world. We are accredited by the WSCUC in the United States and the Commission for University Education in Kenya.

Our student body is diverse, with 18% of our students coming to USIU-Africa from outside Kenya, and 58 nationalities represented. We offer a wide range of academic programs across the Schools of Communication, Creative and Cinematic Arts; Humanities and Social Sciences; Pharmacy and Health Sciences; Science and Technology; the Chandaria School of Business. We recently established a new School of Graduate Studies, Research and Extension, to enhance our research capacity, and are proud of our partnerships, including the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, which over the next 10 years will provide full-cost scholarships to 1,000 young African students.

We are now looking to appoint an outstanding academic leader to head USIU-Africa as its new Vice Chancellor. Reporting to the University Council, the Vice Chancellor will be responsible for the University’s successful and sustainable operation. The successful candidate will set out a vision for USIU-Africa’s next chapter and work collaboratively with the Management Board to deliver it with energy, sound judgment, and integrity, thinking creatively about opportunities for growth and income diversification.

The new Vice Chancellor will be expected to bring a track record of successful leadership and academic achievement, as demonstrated in a doctoral degree and ideally at full Professorial level. They must also demonstrate the ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural and globally minded institution.

USIU-Africa is being supported by the executive search firm Oxford HR in this recruitment. For more information about the role or an informal conversation, you can reach out to the Consultants at usiu-a@oxfordhr.co.uk. The deadline for applications is 1st December 2021.
