Job Summary/Basic Function
Course name: PSYC 100 General Psychology
Course description: An introduction to the study of behavior and mental activity, including such aspects as motivation, emotions, sensation and perception, individual differences, the nervous system, learning and personality with a view of understanding behavior.
Course name: PSYC 356 Health Psychology
Course description: A review of research and theory linking psychological factors to health. Discussion of psychosocial aspects of health behavior, pain, stress and the impact on biological systems. Evaluation of psychological and behavior interventions for health behavior change and chronic illness. Offered in fall.
Contingency: This course may be cancelled, or additional sections of this course may be offered pending student enrollment.
In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.
Required Qualifications
PSYC 100 General Psychology:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology.
- Satisfactory college teaching experience in teaching a general psychology course to undergraduate students.
- Master’s Degree in Psychology.
- Academic preparation to teach health psychology for undergraduate students.
- Teaching experience with psychosocial aspects of health behavior courses.
Preferred Qualifications
PSYC 100 General Psychology:
- Doctorate.
