Job Summary/Basic Function
An adjunct professor for the Department of Community Care & Counseling will be responsible for the administration, facilitation, and teaching of classes of approx. 20-25 online students from around the country. This job entails daily internet interaction with students pursuing a graduate or doctoral degree in the fields of Community Care & Counseling, Human Services and Pastoral Counseling. Adjunct Professors will perform administrative tasks, interact with students through grading and interactive forums, and build relationships while under the supervision of Online Instructional Mentors.
Other responsibilities include:
-Teaching material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
-Assisting students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
-Providing regular and timely feedback to students.
-Participating in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive contact with students and by contacting and offering assistance to absent students.
-Advising students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
-Motivating students to actively participate in all aspect of the educational process.
-Maintaining and reporting student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
-Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Completed Ph.D, Ed.D, Psy.D, in Counselor Education, Counseling Related Field (such as but not limited to: Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, etc.), Psychology Related Field, Human Services, Pastoral/Christian Counseling.
As needed, a vocational doctorate such as, a DMin in Counseling/Pastoral Counseling with substantive experience and/or certification related to pastoral counseling, may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Completed Ph.D, Ed.D, Psy.D, in Counselor Education, Counseling Related Field (such as but not limited to: Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, etc.), Psychology Related Field, Human Services, Pastoral/Christian Counseling.
As needed, a vocational doctorate such as, a DMin in Counseling/Pastoral Counseling with substantive experience and/or certification related to pastoral counseling, may be considered.
Work Hours
Each course lasts 8 weeks. 10-15 hours per week will be expected when actively teaching.
