Assistant Professor in Architecture

The Department of Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is conducting a search for full-time tenure-track faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor. There are multiple open teaching positions in the areas of: architectural history and theory; design studios; and social, racial, and environmental justice. Possible areas of research or creative production might include but are not limited to: contemporary cultures and theories; climate change and ecology; media and computational spatial methodologies; beginning design; housing; and public space studies.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate: 1) a commitment to advancing architecture through innovative teaching; and 2) a record of research and/or design experience that aims to advance contemporary architectural thinking and production which may include built work, theoretical explorations, historical scholarship, publications, extramural funding, and/or exhibitions. 3) potential to teach design studio and related courses. A Master of Architecture degree or its equivalent is required. Professional licensure or an advanced research degree such as a Ph.D. is preferred.
