The MEDEX Physician Assistant Program at the University of Washington seeks a full-time Associate Program Director for Evaluation, Assessment, and Program Accreditation based at its main campus in Seattle, WA. This is a 12-month (July 1 - June 30) service period, non-tenure track position as an Associate Teaching Professor in the Teaching Professor track. The expected start date is December 1, 2021, or soon thereafter.

At a minimum, contributions to committees include Chair of the Evaluation and Assessment Committee, and member of the Curriculum committee and Executive Leadership team. Responsibilities will include reporting and decision-making, as analytic outcomes are directly related to program accreditation compliance, educational quality improvement, and programmatic strategic initiatives.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Teaching didactic and/or clinical students (e.g., investigative research skills, measurement of difficult areas such as cultural competence, orientation of accreditation standards, giving and receiving professional feedback and its utility in educational programs)
  • Building and maintaining related working relationships across the health sciences departments at UW
  • Designing, implementing, analyzing, and presenting evaluative data to all units of MEDEX
  • Measuring and tracking student performance to inform across-campus equivalency
  • Overseeing all programmatic data for the educational program
  • Collaborating with IT related to educational software and database
  • Overseeing staff related to evaluative and assessment activities
  • Participating in multiple committees, as noted earlier
Qualifications
  • MD, DO, or PhD, or foreign equivalent, in a relevant field
  • Minimum ten (10) years research and evaluation experience in a medical school or other university setting
