JOB TITLE: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor SUPERVISOR: Dean  

EFFORT: Full Time or Part Time (Exempt)

EDUCATION: PsyD or PhD

 

California Northstate University is dedicated to educating, developing, and training the next generation of healthcare professionals.  The College of Psychology is accredited by WASC and APA. We are preparing for our fifth entering class and expanding our course offerings.  We are looking for professors to teach a wide variety of classes in the 2022-2023 academic year.

 

We are also looking for professors who can teach one or more of the following classes in the 2022 spring term:

  1. Interventions: Groups
  2. Practicum Preparation 2
  3. Interventions: Consultation and Supervision

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The full time faculty are responsible for (part time have reduced responsibilities):

  1. 1. Preparing syllabi that follow both APA and WSCUC guidelines (assistance if provided)
  2. 2. Teaching courses that are both engaging and informative
  3. 3. Maintaining good working relationships with fellow faculty and administration
  4. Communicating effectively with students regarding course expectations and

performance

  • Acting as an Academic Advisor
  • Chairing/participating in dissertation committees
  • 8. Attending required departmental and University committee meetings
  • 9. Maintaining current and relevant subject matter expertise in the topics covered in their         course
  • Having fundamental knowledge of effective learning strategies and methodologies
  •  

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Must have:

    1. 1. A PhD or PsyD in counseling or clinical psychology
    2. 2. Experience in teaching and/or research
    3. 3. The ability to speak and write clearly and concisely
    4. 4. Willingness to work with a diverse faculty and student body of varying interests and orientations

    Preferred:

    1. 1. Graduate of an APA accredited program
    2. 2. Previous graduate teaching experience
