The Director of The Teachers College Office
of Field Placement and Licensure at Emporia State University is a
year-round, salaried, administrative position located in Emporia,
Kansas. The Director reports to the Associate Dean of the Teachers
College. The anticipated start date is January 2022.
Job Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities may include:
● Supervise all staff in the Office of
Field Placement and Licensure.
● Direct all aspects of field placement,
including but not limited to student teaching and other
school-related field-based experiences. This includes data
collection associated with assessments, preparing and implementing
performance contracts, conducting disclosure interviews, and other
similar tasks associated with field placements.
● Direct the Restricted Licensure
Program.
● Collaborate with academic departments
within and outside of The Teachers College regarding initial and
advanced teacher education candidates.
● Serve on various department, college, and
partner committees, including the Council for Teacher Education,
Emporia Teachers Council, and Academic Leadership Council.
● Manage and maintain the Kansas Higher
Education Professional Development Council (KHEPDC) for ESU
licensed faculty/staff for license renewals.
Qualifications:
● Doctorate in a field directly related to
teacher educator preparation preferred; master’s degree considered.
Individual should have P-12 teaching experience and hold (or have
held) a teaching license/certificate in a P-12 related subject.
● Collaborative individual with good
communication and organizational skills
● Strong leadership skills
