Job Summary

The Program in Environmental Design (ENVD) at the University of Colorado Boulder is pleased to invite applications for a full-time instructor position (non-tenure track) in the Environmental Products of Design major. This position has primary responsibility for coordinating and developing technology courses in the core curriculum including software skills such as Adobe Creative Suite and technology skills such as 3D printing and laser cutting. This position is expected to begin in January 2022. Required areas of expertise include knowledge of 2D and 3D software as well as evolving technology tools in design. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach and coordinate tech courses in the core curriculum in the first three-semesters of environmental design education.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Develop and teach courses at all levels in the curriculum.
  • Enhance undergraduate scholarly endeavors in addition to training students for careers in professional fields.
What You Should Know
  • A typical workload for instructors is 80% teaching and 20% service.
  • All faculty are expected to participate on department committees and in department governance.
  • A research appointment may be considered for the final candidate with published research and strong, ongoing projects.
  • A willingness to teach a summer class is a plus.
  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement . New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.
What We Can Offer
  • This position is a 9 month/100% full-time equivalent with a salary of $72,000.00.
  • Summer salary may also be available.

What We Require
  • Minimum of one academic year of teaching experience, full-time equivalent.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or extensive professional experience in the field of product or industrial design.
