Join the Portland Community College team! The Contract & Grant
Accounting Department is seeking a talented grant Accountant III.
The grant Accountant III serves at the Downtown Center,
conveniently located next to lightrail, downtown waterfront, and
many restaurant and retail options. The position will work remotely
until normal campus operations resume.
Under the direction of the Contract & Grant Accounting Manager,
the grant Accountant III applies federal, state and local laws,
regulations, and policies to manage various grants and contracts
that support the College's mission of equitable student success.
The grant Accountant III portfolio will have a specific emphasis on
grants that support the College's STEP, Career Pathway and Pathways
to Opportunity programs. The grant Accountant III will also
collaborate with departmental managers by providing technical
information regarding accounting principles and the College's
accounting software. Additionally, the grant Accountant III will
coordinate district wide initiatives such as: grant budget
development and monitoring; grant year-end closing initiatives; as
well as the College’s indirect cost-rate proposal.

- Knowledge of and experience applying federal and state laws,
rules and regulations to grants and contracts;
- Experience with government/non-profit fund accounting;
- Experience preparing financial reporting to federal/state
agencies to support grant reimbursement;
- Experience coordinating with project investigators and grant
administrators to submit timely reports and ensure grant
- Experience providing technical information to departmental
managers and other staff regarding college accounting requirements
and college accounting software;
- Experience preparing and/or reviewing complex budgets; and
- Experience with planning, leading, directing, and managing

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business
Administration, or related field (experience performing the duties
described above may substitute for the degree requirement on a

comprehensive annual financial reports and federal reporting
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and overseeing complex
financial projects and audits; working with PC and mainframe

Starting Salary Expectations
$56,939 to $60,992 (Step 3); based on qualifications,
experience, and internal equity.
Position Grade Salary Range
$56939 to $98729 Annual Salary

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Occasional
evening or weekend hours may be required depending on project
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimal physical exertion is required. May sit for extended periods
of time at a desk or working at a computer. Learned physical skill
is required to perform keyboarding functions.
