This position assists with the recruitment of prospective international students, facilitates admission requirements and provides support and guidance to prospective students throughout the enrollment and visa procurement process.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities :

  • Facilitates all enrollment activities for students pursuing enrollment into the University.
  • Collects all necessary application materials toward enrollment including, transcripts, recommendations, test scores, essays, and visa documents.
  • Reviews application materials to confirm they are ready for an admissions decision.
  • Recalculate international transcripts to reflect and equivalent GPA on a US 4.00 scale.
  • Manage the I-20 process from the time of acceptance through the point the student passes their visa interview as a designated school official (DSO).
  • Monitor the International email account and respond or forward emails to the appropriate staff member for follow up.
  • Coordinate the dates and times and flight information of when new students are expected to arrive on campus.
  • Assist with student events on campus including, but not limited to Orientation, Open House and Accepted Student Days.
  • Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
Other Functions :
  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience :
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of experience in admissions in a post-secondary educational environment or sales and customer service experience
