Job Summary:
The HVAC/Mechanical Assistant assists in the maintenance, repair and upkeep of heating and air conditioning equipment and chemical treatment of water used through campus. Also assists with maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of plumbing systems.
  • Attend work timely and on a regular basis during the established hours of operation; work additional hours as business necessitates.
  • Assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of boilers.
  • Assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of heating and air conditioning equipment.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
  • Assist in the maintenance of industrial water softeners.
  • Perform preventative maintenance schedule on all HVAC/mechanical equipment.
  • On alternating basis with mechanical shop personnel, will be on call for evenings and weekends.
  • Assist with snow/ice removal.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in installation and maintenance of heating and air conditioning equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and operations.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair of boilers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in maintenance of industrial water softeners.
  • License in plumbing and/or electrical systems.
  • Technical school training.
Special Requirements:
  • On alternating basis with mechanical shop personnel, will be on-call for evenings and weekends.
  • Valid Missouri Class E driver’s license or ability to attain one.
