Job Summary:
Game day workers with assist in the production of each Columbia College athletic event.

Positions include:
  • Statistician – Maintain play-by-play stats throughout games.
  • Stats Spotter – Communicate proper statistics to the statistician.
  • Score Book – Maintain the score sheet or score book throughout a game or match.
  • Score Board Operator – Keep up with the game by inputting the score and time on the score board.
  • Shot Clock Operator – Keep an accurate shot clock in basketball contests.
  • Stat Board Operator – Maintain athletes’ statistics on the score board.
  • Stat Board Spotter – Communicate proper substitutions and stats to the operator.
  • Replay Coordinator – Assist officials with replays.
  • Libero Tracker – Keep track of Libero substitutions throughout a volleyball match.
  • Camera Operator – Follow the contest throughout.
  • Game Film Operator – Follow the contest throughout and assist in recording the game at the completion.

Specialized Positions Include:
  • TriCaster Director - The TriCaster Director is in charge of the game day experience for indoor athletic events (Volleyball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball). They control the switching of camera views for the audience in the gym; playing videos, advertisements or music during pregame introductions, timeouts and breaks in the game; coordinating with the public address announcer and other promotional staff in regards to promotional events and announcements.
  • Public Address Announcer - The Public Address Announcer will assist in the production of each Columbia College athletic event by announcing play by play, pre-game and post-game.

  • Practice superior customer service.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Display respect and civility to all constituencies regardless of method of communication.
  • Attend work timely and during the established hours of operation on a regular basis; work additional hours as business necessitates.
Supervision Received:
  • Associate and Assistant Directors of Athletics

Skills:
  • Ability to fluently read, write and understand the English language.
  • Proficiency with the following, but not limited to: instructing, speaking, management of personnel resources; monitoring; judgment and decision making; learning strategies; active listening; complex problem solving; coordination; and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with or without direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills with all constituents.
Experience:
  • Athletic game day experience.

Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Experience working in a college environment.
