Founding Dean of Education

Sharjah Education Academy(SEA) is now accepting applications for the Founding Dean of Education position. The  Dean is responsible for overseeing the Academic Stream of the Department of Education. The Dean oversees the development, management, and delivery of all academic programs within the Academy as well as oversees the department’s research.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Overseeing the development and delivery of academic programs’ policies, budgets and procedures 
• Supports the professional development of both fulltime and adjunct faculty 
• Leads the initiative to engage with new faculty for future programs  
• Works with the Executive Director and the Director of Student Services and Admissions, along with other senior staff to develop and implement strategic enrolment management and student recruitment initiatives. 
• Collaborates with the Chief Learning Officer regarding professional development and UAE Ministry of Education licensure requirements, educator’s needs and the academic content to support successful job placement of graduates in teaching and leadership 
• Leads the strategic planning of the academic programs. Collaborates with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Quality Assurance regarding all internal and external reporting structures including accreditation reports that are in alignment with Sharjah Education Academy’s strategic plan. 
• Provides support to students on issues related to the institution policies, department processes and student services 
• Supports and leads the implementation of additional graduate programs 
• Supports and leads the implementation of SEA’s research initiatives 

 Requirements: 

• Doctorate in Education and at least six (6) years of senior level experience in higher education 
• At least 10 years’ experience as an assistant, associate, or full professor   
• Established distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and service in higher education.  
• Experience with accreditation and assessment of programs outcomes

Sharjah Education Academy(SEA) is a newly founded academic institution located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates who seeks to drive improvement in education through three core streams (1) graduate degree bearing programs in education; (2) professional development for teachers and leaders within education; (3) and research to support the development of individuals and education systems. Since its launch in 2020, SEA has had over 95,000 participants join the professional development experiences. Currently SEA is gearing up to launch its first post-graduate diploma in Education and is currently building its infrastructure to launch its research stream along with a supporting think tank, as well as preparing for the future development of Master’s and PhD programs in education.
