About Northeastern:
Founded in 1898, Northeastern is a global research university and the recognized leader in experience-driven lifelong learning. Our world-renowned experiential approach empowers our students, faculty, alumni, and partners to create impact far beyond the confines of discipline, degree, and campus.

Our locations—in Boston; Charlotte, North Carolina; London; Portland, Maine; San Francisco; Seattle; Silicon Valley; Toronto; Vancouver; and the Massachusetts communities of Burlington and Nahant—are nodes in our growing global university system. Through this network, we expand opportunities for flexible, student-centered learning and collaborative, solutions-focused research.

Northeastern's comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs— in a variety of on-campus and online formats—lead to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools. Among these, we offer more than 195 multi-discipline majors and degrees designed to prepare students for purposeful lives and careers.

About the Opportunity:
The Center for Co-op and Career Development (the Co-op Office) manages the year-round, full-time internship program at the School of Law, as well as post graduate career advising for all law students. Each JD student is required to successfully complete three co-ops as a graduation requirement, and on an annual basis the Co-op Office handles approximately 800+ legal placements worldwide. Co-op is central to the law school's academic program and the Co-op office facilitates the placement of students in internships, supports them during internships, and partners with the approximately 900 legal employers in the law school's Co-op program.

The Program Assistant is an integral member of the Co-op Office's busy Operations team. The Program Assistant position's responsibilities lie in three interrelated areas:

As the front line Co-op staff person in the office, the Program Assistant is responsible for greeting and assisting students, answering employer inquiries by phone and by email, and appropriately directing the many requests received in the Co-op office from the larger law school and university community;

(2) Computer Operations/Technical Support - working closely with and reporting to the Associate Director for Operations & Analytics, this position co-teams with and provides technical and programmatic support for students and employers with respect to co-op related issues, and helps to manage input for the complex Co-op database; and

(3) General Administrative/Office duties - this position assists in many aspects of the administration of the co-op program including assisting with reporting, programming, maintaining student and employer records in the database, and processing co-op paperwork such as co-op evaluations, student-developed co-op forms, and new employer applications. This position is also responsible for supporting the Advising Team and Associate Director with their administrative needs, on an “as needed” basis. Some specific duties include: coordinating scheduling and calendars; using technology to communicate with students and employers; assisting with office events and student programming; and working with work study students in the office.
