The Bouve College of Health Sciences seeks

Bouve College of Health Sciences is comprised of three preeminent schools of study encompassing approximately 1,000 faculty and staff, 5,000 students, and 40,000 alumni.

Please note: The primary work location for this position is the Boston MA Northeastern University Campus Location. Until our full return to campus, which is still to-be-determined, this interview process will be conducted remotely- including virtual interviews, remote onboarding and remote work. Local, on-campus work will be required once the College and this role return to an operational status that supports it.

Responsibilities:
We seek to hire a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, Bouve College of Health Sciences through a Fellowship program with Moderna Therapeutics, Inc, Cambridge, MA. The candidate will be is responsible for the in vivo pharmacology, pathology, and toxicology deliverables for drug molecules in early and later stages of clinical development.

She/he will contribute to evaluating various preclinical and clinical pharmacology and toxicology analysis and building clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics models to support dose selection at various stages of drug development. The candidate will support the Pharmacology and Toxicology project lead on programs with high quantitative intensity and will collaborate closely with Pharmacometrics team on advanced pharmacology modeling and simulation.

In addition, the candidate will also work on the submission of manuscripts and providing scientific seminars as well as mentoring and assisting junior researchers in the lab.

Qualifications:
Provide the minimum education, experience, and skills required to perform the job successfully.

The candidate must have a PhD degree in PhD with a focus in Pharmaceutical Sciences with in-depth training in pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutics or other related subdisciplines. Hands-on proficiency in vivo pharmacology and toxicology is desirable. The candidate should have a broad understanding of pharm-tox principles and incorporation of strategies and an ability to develop and deliver clear and concise presentations for both internal and external meetings

Specific responsibilities will include:

1) Create novel experimental designs for mechanistic pathology/toxicology studies designed to assess hypotheses for and evaluate mechanisms of toxicity related to physiological or biochemical functions.

2) Use cutting-edge molecular and cellular technologies to help make the next generation of gene and cell therapies. From single-cell RNAseq to organ-on-a-chip technology.

3) Probe molecular and cellular mechanisms of toxicity to determine drivers of the liver, cardiovascular and other toxicities and guide drug projects to make safer medicines using your experience, in-house, and literature data

4) Communicate results clearly and concisely in both oral and written reports. 5) Perform in-depth pathway/network analysis on data derived from toxicology and other studies.

The candidate should have a strong publication record in pharmacology and toxicology and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
