Responsibilities:
The Senior Board Operations Associate is a critical member to the Board of Trustees Office and plays a significant role in the organizational and operational components of the Board of Trustees Office and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program within the office. Board of Trustees meetings are a major responsibility for the Board Office and is essential to the overall governance, and subsequent operations, of the university. The Senior Associate must be able to provide administrative and technological support for members of the university's Board of Trustees and its standing committees, with minimal guidance from the Board Secretary. The Senior Associate will be responsible for department budget, including reconciliation and reporting. As a critical team member, they must be able to interpret policies relating to governance in furtherance of work duties. They will be responsible for managing the board portal, which is critical to Board Operations, as well as all other technology needs. They must be able to work independently and manage projects from start to completion while managing other duties including, but not limited to, compiling, analyzing, and formatting data, and implementing best practices for Board operations and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program.

Reporting to the Board Secretary, the Senior Board Operations Associate is a liaison between members of the university community and the needs of the Board. This position involves working with high profile individuals both internally and externally, requiring diplomacy, discretion, and an extensive knowledge of the University. Matters and materials for the Board of Trustee are both sensitive and highly confidential therefore the Senior Associate must exercise the highest level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion of Board relationships.

The Senior Board Operations Associate must be able to work a leadership role in developing programs for the delivery of information to Board members, working with vendors, senior university officials and others to ensure timely and accessible materials for the smooth and effective execution of meetings. They interact on a regular basis with individual governing board members, providing governance direction and assessing and addressing individual interactions with Northeastern. The Board Office interacts with trustees, campus guests, dignitaries and other important individuals. As such, the Senior Associate is expected to maintain a professional appearance and mannerisms, collaborate, and work well with individuals across the Northeastern network.

This position coordinates with other Advancement and university staff, and external constituents on initiatives related to ongoing leadership relations. The Senior Board Operations Associate performs a range of duties that require tact, sensitivity, diplomacy, consensus-building, flexibility, discretion, and confidentiality.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. At least four (4) years of experience working in a fast-paced environment required, preferably with governing boards or in higher education or advancement operations. Strong organizational and information management skills. Ability to consistently interact positively with variety of constituents essential. Excellent word processing, database software skills, automated calendaring, and spreadsheet proficiency required. Extraordinary level of professionalism required. Must have proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects at once, and complete projects with minimal supervision. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to serve as an ambassador for Board Office and Advancement Division, if needed.
