Richmond is also served by U.S. Route 25 from Southeastern Kentucky and Kentucky Route 52 from the east and west. The Bluegrass, Mountain, Daniel Boone, and Cumberland Parkways provide even greater accessibility by automobile since the city is located near the convergence of these arterial highways into the interstate system.

Position Summary:
The College of Business is seeking enthusiastic applicants for an Assistant Professor of Marketing position beginning Fall 2022. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing, including but not limited to Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Retailing, Marketing Strategy, and Digital Marketing. The standard teaching load is 4/4 with a college-dean approved reassignment to three sections (9 credits) per semester. The selected candidate may be afforded the opportunity to develop courses in their area(s) of interest. The selected candidate will assist Marketing faculty with program development, assessment, expansion of course offerings, and support for University signature programs such as the EKU Berman Center for Professional Sales, the MKT Research & Analytics Program, and the PGA Golf Management. Faculty are expected to teach on the campus in Richmond and online via eCampus. Summer teaching is typically available but is contingent upon University funding and demand.

Teaching:
  • Develop, implement, and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology, and other tools;
  • Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline;
  • Develop a system for ongoing evaluation of both teaching and learning, including expectations of student competency and student learning outcomes;
  • Work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify strengths and weaknesses and identify professional development activities to improve student learning.



Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity:
  • Demonstrate a record of ongoing research, scholarship or creative activity appropriate to your academic discipline.

Service:
  • Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry;
  • Work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising and orientation;
  • Participate in institutional service roles such as, but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorship, advisory committees, and student/faculty recruitment.

Virtual outreach to candidates will occur in November and December. Select candidates will then be invited to campus in January, 2022.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Marketing, preferably from an AACSB accredited institution, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Marketing. ABD status may be considered as long as all degree requirements, including dissertation, defense of dissertation, and comprehensive examinations, have been successfully completed within one year of appointment.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Teaching and research experience in sales topics and marketing analytics are optimal.
  • Demonstrated record of engagement, innovation, and impact in teaching a variety of Marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate level;
  • Demonstrated record of commitment to impact, innovation, and engagement in teaching, service, intellectual contributions to the discipline;
  • Relevant professional experience in Marketing/Marketing—related areas;
  • Appropriate professional certification(s) in the field of study.
