Position Summary:
The Assistant Director for Gift Operations is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the day to day gift operations of the University of Idaho Foundation. Under the general guidance of the Director of Endowments and Gift Administration, the Assistant Director supervises office operations, defines scope of work, outlines utilization of resources, and oversees gift records processing. Ensures accuracy and integrity of gift and donor records; collaborates with Foundation and Advancement technical support to streamline processes and develop reports used in daily activities, interprets and explains federal and university gift regulations and policies; uses independent judgment to make decisions; coordinates and administers training for campus-wide positions that work with gifts-related information; participates in planning and management meetings with University of Idaho Foundation staff as well as other University units (Advancement Services, Athletics, Human Resources).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a preference to business, administration, finance, communications, or related areas; an additional four years of business administration experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree (seven years total experience)
  • Three years of related work experience
  • Analyzing information from a variety of sources, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations
  • Working within a relational database, entering, analyzing, and validating data to maintain the integrity of records
  • Researching and compiling information and preparing summaries and reports in a spreadsheet application
  • Editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials
  • Working in a regulated environment dependent upon strict compliance with contract terms, policies, regulations and/or laws
  • Interpreting and evaluating policy and procedural requirements
  • Serving as a liaison between internal and external entities and individuals in the coordination of activities and resolution of issues


Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
  • Advanced Degree



Experience:
  • More than five years of related work experience
  • Reviewing and navigating adjustments to contractual documents to align with an organization’s practices and applicable regulations
  • Working at a university or foundation
  • Operating within a Constituent Relations Management (CRM) relational database or other integrated computer systems.
  • Supervising the work of others
  • Assisting internal customers with the translation of complicated policies, procedures, regulations and/or terms and conditions
  • Making sound decisions by applying policies and procedures and using available resources
  • Managing multiple projects under tight deadlines and completing tasks with multiple interruptions and distractions
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the public

Knowledge of:
  • Ethics and confidentiality principles and practices
  • CASE reporting standards and management guidelines


Ability to:
  • Extrapolate and use a previous related solution to resolve a separate unique problem
  • Communicating effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of constituents
