Athletic Training Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor

Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this position will involve scholarship and teaching (including separately contracted, summer teaching) and administrative duties (e.g., assist with CAATE accreditation, assist with program assessment, etc.) within the program. The position will also include academic release time to support the MSAT clinical education coordinator and staff in coordinating clinical experiences. The selected candidate will teach professional athletic training education courses, and the focus may be in one or more of the following areas: prevention/acute care of injury and illness, immediate and emergency care, therapeutic modalities, or clinical education/experience. The successful candidates will primarily advise and mentor graduate students in the MSAT program and serve on department, college, and university committees. Specific duties may include but are not limited to:· Deliver course content and instruction in accordance with UI, Programmatic, and Accreditor expectations· Advising of undergraduate and graduate Athletic Training Students· Facilitating student participation in extracurricular professional activities· Contribution to scholarly and creative activities amongst the program’s faculty/staff· Teaching, training, and dissemination of AT/Program-related information for public and professional audiences· Volunteerism with private/public organizations· Service as a preceptor/clinical instructor/clinician for AT-related services· Participation in intramural and administrative groups· Execution of administrative tasks essential to CAATE accreditation and program assessment.· Assist the Director/Coordinator of clinical education in creation, establishment, and assessment of all phases of the clinical education programs within the MSAT

Minimum Qualifications:
· Possess an earned doctorate in kinesiology, athletic training, or related field;· Demonstrate experience in university teaching/instruction;· Provide evidence of at least three years of Board of Certification (BOC), certified athletic training experience;· Provide evidence of scholarly potential;· Possess or be eligible for athletic training licensure in the state of Idaho;· Must meet the eligibility requirements for rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Possess an earned doctorate in athletic training;· Have previous program leadership experience;· Can demonstrate an understanding of advanced clinical practice and patient care;· Have demonstrated ability to organize and lead student clinical education experiences;· Have demonstrate ability to teach athletic training courses in a CAATE accredited program;· Have demonstrated experience in utilizing evidence-based practice and generating practice-based evidence;· Have experience in emerging forms of manual therapy;· Have experience in developing and delivering online education (synchronous and/or asynchronous).
