Assistant Director for Leadership Development & Community Standards

Location: Moscow

Pay Range: $53,518 per year or higher depending on education and experience

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:
The Assistant Director for Leadership Development and Community Standards will report to the Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life and will be responsible for Housing conduct system and serving as the RHA Advisor. The Assistant Director supervises one full-time conduct officer. The Assistant Director will act as a liaison and work collaboratively with the Dean of Student's office, local law enforcement, Public Safety & Security, and the Office of Civil Rights & Investigations in matters of student conduct issues, Title IX, and Clery Act. This position makes decisions in assigning and sanctioning conduct cases and conduct administration within the residence hall system. The Assistant Director counsels and provides comprehensive advising to students on a wide ranges of topics; such as academics, rights and responsibilities, and socio-cultural issues etc. The position will provide individual care and support for individuals who have disclosed suicidal thoughts, incidents of sexual assault, or other life changing events. This position is responsible for the management and fiscal decision making for three separate budgets in each of the specific areas of responsibility (conduct and advising). This is a full-time 12-month position that will require working some weekends and week nights.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in higher education, counseling, social work, college personnel, or other related educational fields.
  • 2+ years professional Residence Life/Housing experience;

  • Experience advising a Residence Hall Association or similar large scale student group;
  • 2+ years experience as a conduct officer.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with diverse populations, including parents, faculty and staff;

  • Demonstrated competence in public speaking, public relations, and written and oral communications;

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and decision-making abilities.

  • Knowledge of student development theory, principles and practices;
  • Experience coordinating both large and small scale programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and lead others in program related activities;
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with campus constituencies;
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to diversity and social justice issues;
  • Experience with judicial management software.
