RUSM Senior Associate Dean

Ross University School of Medicine, located in Bridgetown, Barbados, invites applications and nominations for the position of Senior Associate Dean, Barbados Campus.

Students complete their foundational studies in Barbados, West Indies, before completing their clinical training in one of Ross’s affiliated teaching hospitals throughout the United States.

Reporting to the Dean of RUSM and serving as a member of its Executive Leadership team, the Senior Associate Dean oversees Barbados-based faculty members. This position, which is based in Barbados, is responsible for day-to-day supervision of faculty members who are organized in two departments; direct reports to this position include the Department Chair, Medical Sciences and the Department Chair, Clinical Sciences. The Senior Administrator for Campus Operations has a dotted line reporting relationship to this position.

The Senior Associate Dean leads the campus team by encouraging and fostering an environment that values diversity; promotes student, faculty, and colleague engagement and success; and engages as a socially responsible member of the community. The Senior Associate Dean leads a growing campus community of approximately 70 full-time faculty members, 140 on-island colleagues, and 1,500 medical students; oversees a budget of approximately $60MM; and serves as an official representative of the University with campus stakeholders.

Candidates must possess an M.D., Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent degree. In addition, strong candidates would be expected to demonstrate leadership in an accredited medical school as an associate or regional dean or as a chair of a large department and appreciation of the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion and success in building and supporting a diverse student body and faculty;
