Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Associate Director of Facilities to become a part of the Housing and Residence Life team as we provide a vibrant residential experience that promotes inclusiveness, learning, academic excellence, and meaningful relationships. This work occurs as we embark on continued growth and serve an on-campus population of approximately 3,000 students. The Associate Director will be responsible for leading the custodial and maintenance teams, facility capital projects, and long-term planning for all university-owned residential housing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee safety compliance, program development, training and coordination of Risk Management and facility issues.
  • Work with internal and external agencies to facilitate successful completion of projects and serve as a spokesperson for residential facilities.
  • Participate in the process to build and open a new first-year student residence hall
  • Recruit, hire, and support a world-class facility and maintenance staff
  • Manage and oversee the work order system effectiveness to include emergent repair, reactive and preventative maintenance, renovation, and cleaning operations in the residence halls, apartments, and warehouse facilities.
  • Oversee warehouse inventory space, materials management, and purchasing for both custodial and maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Manages furniture and appliance inventory for residential facilities to include making purchasing recommendations, ordering product, and coordination of delivery.
  • Oversee multiple contracted service vendors in support of maintenance and custodial - including approval of scope, coordination with affected internal departments, billing and acceptance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus 5 years relevant experience including 1 years managerial experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of similar and related experience.
  • Experience working in a congregate living environment
  • Experience working with students
  • Fluency in two or more languages.
  • Capital project experience working with the Department of Public Works

Salary and Benefits:

Anticipated starting salary is $69,000 to $75,000 depending on experience.
