Position Summary

Governors State University’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks to create an available pool of Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach mathematics courses in the Division of Science, Mathematics and Technology.
At Governors State University, adjunct faculty are hired as temporary faculty with teaching responsibilities for a specific course in a semester or summer session. Adjuncts are not tenure-track, not a part of the faculty bargaining unit, and are not included in membership of the Faculty Senate.

Minimum Qualifications

The desired candidate(s) will have the ability to teach courses at the upper-division level in the B.A. in Mathematics as well as general education mathematics courses. Experience with mathematics technology including online courses is a plus. A master’s degree or Ph.D. (preferred) in mathematics and experience in teaching mathematics are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience in higher education preferred. Research or Industrial experience is a plus.
