We are recruiting for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) position in science education. A successful candidate will work collaboratively with current faculty to engage in the PK-8 teacher education program and to help grow our undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs.

The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Foundational Studies (CIFS) is a collaborative department searching for dynamic scholars committed to advancing their research agenda as well as collaborating with others. We are seeking a colleague who will engage in research, grant writing, service, and teaching (3-3 load).

For All Applicants:

  • Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution before date of hire in science education, or related field
  • Current or former teacher licensure in elementary (P-5) or middle school (6-8) teaching
  • Minimum of three years of school teaching experience, including the teaching of science
  • Commitment to working in a teacher education program
  • Demonstrate experience with successful collaboration

For Assistant Level Applicants:

  • Provide evidence of a research agenda primarily focused on science education or related scholarly field
  • Demonstrate potential for obtaining external funding for science education research or related scholarly field
  • Demonstrate potential for sustained scholarly contributions to science education research or related scholarly field
  • Demonstrate commitment to advancing access and opportunity in science education
  • Demonstrate commitment to all students’ success
  • Demonstrate potential for supporting postsecondary students in science education research

For Associate Level Applicants:

  • Provide evidence of a nationally or internationally recognized research agenda primarily focused on science education or related scholarly field
  • Provide evidence of external funding for science education research or related scholarly field
  • Provide evidence of a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed, published articles, demonstrating sustained scholarly contributions to science education research or related scholarly field
  • Provide evidence of advancing access and opportunity in science education
  • Provide evidence of commitment to all students’ success
  • Provide evidence of successfully mentoring or advising postsecondary students

Preferred Qualifications

  • Earned degree at any level from a regionally accredited institution in a science field
  • Demonstrate experience of successfully supporting postsecondary students in research

Salary and Benefits:

Starting at salary range: $64,542 to $76,398 per year; commensurate with experience and rank.
