Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population.
Part-time position 18 hours per week. The Career Success Coach will collaborate on grant initiatives and work with faculty and staff to provide workshops, coaching, and other assistance to students in relation to career exploration and development, internship and job matching and industry outreach and engagement. The Career Success Coach will also track participant activity and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Collaborates with Success Project Manager, Coaches, Career Services, and other administrative and academic offices on Success grant initiatives.
  • Provides students with one-on-one counseling in the areas of job search goal setting, career and pathway exploration, interview preparation, resume/cover letter creation, building professional portfolios, completing transfer applications, creating and building connections through social media and other networks;
  • Identifies and connects students with appropriate internship, employment and research opportunities, works with students to develop job opportunities, arranges and prepares students for interviews;
  • Creates career and talent pipelines with area businesses and industries. Markets and represents MassBay students and programs to existing industry partners and establishes new partnerships.
  • Coordinates and promotes informational forums, interviewing events, industry tours, and other career-related activities;
  • Makes recommendations for coaching and other academic support services to promote retention and completion;
  • Provides career-related data and information as needed when requested by faculty and administrative offices.
  • Tracks student progress, including follow-up and contributes to compliance reporting.

Required Qualifications: (per the union specifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Counseling, Higher Education or closely- related field; with three (3) years’ experience and/or training that includes career counseling, job development and placement experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Demonstrated commitment to working with under-served students;
  • Strong marketing, recruitment, critical thinking and customer service skills;
  • Experience working with a diverse population;
  • Proficiency in oral/written communication expression.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $30.03 - 30.03 Hourly Wage

Position Type: MCCC Part Time Employee
