The salary range for this position is $90,600 – $121,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.

The Assistant Dean for Student Support Services in the College of Business helps shape the direction of the College by participating with the Dean in all phases of planning, with a focus on the necessary support services to effectively recruit and retain students. The position works closely with the Dean, Department Chairs, Faculty, and staff within the College to help realize the vision, mission, and goals of the College. Duties/Responsibilities
Student Support responsibilities include the following:
  • Work with the Admissions Office recruiting staff to provide direct access to high schools, high school counselors and community college counselors and program directors to directly promote the college’s programs
  • Work closely with the high schools and community colleges to facilitate admissions into the university and the business programs through transfer agreements and other appropriate outreach
  • Work with the Hispanic Serving Institution ( HSI ) task force and other University or College committees to develop business oriented outreach to attract a diverse student body
  • Work with the College’s department chairs to coordinate the Academic Advisors’ activities to improve retention; maintain and strengthen coordination of activities with Central Advising
  • Represent the College of Business as the liaison to student support programs to continue and increase collaborative programs between the College and student support services such as Student Persistence, Tutoring, Honors Program, academic student organizations, Beta Gamma Sigma and other appropriate student regional, national or international organizations
  • Work with the College’s Communications Committee to develop promotional materials to be used to recruit new students, as well as messaging to reach students for enrollment and retention purposes
  • Provide support for undergraduate students through overseeing the processes for approving degree exceptions, BASE Petition, Grade Appeals, Overload Requests, Time Conflict Requests, as well as other student complaints or concerns
  • Work with the Classroom to Careers Hub, Student Activities, Student Life, Applied Learning Center, Alumni Office and other offices as appropriate to coordinate activities for undergraduate students that will engage students while on campus with the goal of continuing that engagement as alumni; chair the College of Business (recent) Alumni Group, as well as providing opportunities for local businesses to engage with our students in on-campus activities to increase job placement, by providing support to the College’s College to Career liaison and coordinating communications of activities through advisors
  • Supervise the College of Business Outreach and Retention Specialist, College to Career Hub Business Liaison, and Administrative Assistant
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Masters degree
  • Experience working with diverse groups
  • Experience using computer technology in higher education
  • Experience in organizational leadership and higher education administration
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or PhD with emphasis in higher education or business
  • Experience with AACSB accreditation
  • Demonstrated experience in the recruitment or retention of diverse students, including students of color
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Evidence of effectiveness in working with students
