Administrative & Academic Coordinator, Center for Sport Leadership
(Administrative Coordinator I, General Administration)

Position primary purpose and general responsibilities:

The Center for Sport Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University is looking to hire a creative and energetic Administrative & Academic Coordinator to assist in preparing students for successful careers in the sport industry. While creating an innovative, practical learning environment, this position will successfully manage administrative, operational, planning, scheduling and Center activities. Some of the general responsibilities will include:
* Administrative support for applications and admissions
* Performing well-defined academic and office support tasks and responding to others according to specific guidelines
* Ensuring confidentiality of information among all parties
* Ensuring that all University policies procedures and guidelines are followed

Minimum Hiring Standards:
* Bachelor’s Degree
* A professional attitude with confidentiality of the utmost importance in all interactions
* Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills
* Considerable administrative experience
* Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks by stated deadlines
* Knowledge of university organizations
* Excellent computer skills
* Must have a pleasant, positive and enthusiastic service attitude and the ability to learn about the Center and its programs
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, and to know when to ask for information or assistance
* The ability to work in a fast paced diverse and multi-cultural environment
* Experience with Microsoft Office software

Preferred Hiring Standards:
* Experience working in a university setting with students pursuing a degree in higher education or related field
* Knowledge of university protocols and organization
* Knowledge and experience in Canvas
* Knowledge and experience with the Banner student reporting center

Salary Range: $35,000 - $40,000
