The Department of Cinematic Arts, within the School of Communication at the University of Miami offers an exciting opportunity for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Directing to begin on August 15, 2022. 

We seek a filmmaker with notable experience directing films with an independent spirit and working with actors. Candidates should have a professional exhibition record. Evidence of teaching experience at the university level is preferred. Successful applicants will demonstrate commitment to equity-forward teaching practices and embrace the values of inclusivity and diversity, both in the classroom and in the field.

Faculty member will teach five courses per academic year, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and participate in departmental and/or school-wide committees. The successful candidate will be expected to create and exhibit films as a requirement for their progress towards tenure, assisted by university resources.

Requirements:

A terminal degree MFA or PhD in Film or related field is required.
