The successful candidate will teach doctoral courses in Educational Sustainability. The candidate will collaborate with the Director on the development and adaptation of pedagogy, curriculum, and student success systems for the Doctorate in Educational Sustainability (EdD) Program. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is committed to preparing our students for a diverse and inclusive world, therefore a successful candidate will have experience teaching and/or researching topics such as pluralism, social justice, and reorienting curriculum towards a sustainable future. Duties also include serving as a leader in sustainability on and off campus, recruiting and supporting students, advisingn doctoral students, and serving on dissertation committees. This position requires scholarship, service, advising, and mentoring. This position might include teaching at the undergraduate and master's levels, based on the candidate's expertise/interest and the needs of the department. Winterim and summer teaching opportunities are available. The EdD is a year-round program therefore, some summer teaching and/or other paid duties are required, including the co-facilitating a 5-day annual summer residency of EdD candidates.
Required Qualifications
• Earned doctorate in Sustainability Education, Sustainability,
Adult Learning, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction
or other sustainability education-related degree.
• Evidence of expertise and substantial engagement in
Sustainability, Sustainability Education, or a closely related
field.
• Undergraduate and/or graduate degree(s) in sustainability can be
partial evidence of this qualification. (Our program's scope of
"sustainability" includes natural systems, social systems, and
economic systems, with a focus on inclusive approaches to education
that advances equity.)
• Experience with diverse populations of learners.
• Experience teaching of university students, adult learners,
and/or professionals.
• Experience teaching in sustainability or a related field.
• Experience teaching with innovative pedagogies and online
technologies.
• Evidence of successful research/scholarship, including a minimum
of 3 published peer-reviewed journal articles.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing and/or maintaining a responsive approach
for student/advisee support.
• Experience facilitating outreach activities and/or building
partnerships in the local or global community in informal or formal
systems of teaching, learning and/or leadership.
• Experience adapting instruction to a variety of different fields
of study, specifically business, higher education, adult learning,
not-for-profit community agencies, education, and
administration.
• Knowledge and skills in quantitative and qualitative data
collection and analysis methods.
