Job Description

The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences (PENS) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position in Inorganic Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin fall 2022. Applications are welcome from individuals with expertise in organometallic chemistry, including inorganic photochemistry, novel inorganic materials, and catalysis. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program involving both graduate and undergraduate students. The candidate will assist in development of graduate curriculum related to their area of expertise. They will also be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in inorganic chemistry and other labs and courses as needed. The candidate will be expected to participate in service at the university, state, and national level, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and other duties as assigned.

The Chemistry Program is part of the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences (PENS). It offers both undergraduate and graduate (MS) degrees in chemistry. PENS is also home to programs in Atmospheric Science (BS), Coastal and Marine System Science (MS, PhD), Environmental Science (BS, MS), Geology (BS), and Physics (BS).

Required Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field. Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
  • At least one year of postdoctoral experience.
  • Expertise in Inorganic Chemistry.
