Position Summary:
Primarily responsible for leading the strategic communications effort for the University. This position will provide innovative and collaborative leadership to their unit, increase engagement with University stakeholders, counsel University leadership on media relations issues, and serve as the official spokesperson for the University. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in the creation and implementation of strategic communication plans for colleges and divisions within the University.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Arts in communications, marketing, public relations or an associated field. Master’s degree preferred.


Minimum Experience:
-At least five (5) years of experience in public and/or media relations creating and implementing strategic communication plans. Seven (7) years of experience preferred. -Experience in higher education/government/corporate public affairs preferred.


Minimum Licensure and Certification:
Professional certification preferred.
