The Global Experience Office (GEO) is a central office of global education at Northeastern University, committed to ensuring that every Northeastern student has an opportunity to engage in intellectually challenging and culturally enriching experiences throughout the world. To achieve this, GEO partners with Northeastern colleges and units to integrate meaningful global experiences into their curricula and to enhance their capacity through global mobility. Northeastern's signature programs, including Dialogues of Civilizations, Global Quest, The N.U.in Program, and Semester-In, are carefully designed to reflect the Northeastern University (NU) global mission, complement students' on-campus studies, deepen students' knowledge of the world and their chosen field of study, and help students develop intercultural and political sensitivity, utilize and strengthen foreign language skills, explore global career options, and grow as individuals. Through these programs, GEO facilitates global experiences for over 3,800 NU students and 200 additional foreign incoming students.

The Communications & Media Coordinator is responsible for creating compelling copy that attracts, engages, and supports lead generation and nurturing efforts at every stage of the marketing funnel—from awareness to application—across digital and physical media. The person in this role should be proactive, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven. They should be a strong communicator able to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, as the role works closely with key internal stakeholders, program alumni, subject matter experts, and employees across Northeastern University.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has a knack for generating appealing content, the ability to write to a variety of audience personas, and an understanding of the ways different media alter content. The candidate should be familiar with AP style and be able to write with search engine and keyword optimization in mind. Experience writing content for print collateral, websites, blogs, and other platforms, as required, is a must. Ability to track and report on marketing campaign results, particularly through Google Analytics, preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or journalism required
  • 2-4 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, or journalism
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with search engine optimization, keyword research, and HTML
  • Strong knowledge of content management systems like WordPress or Drupal


    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Marketo, Salesforce, and HubSpot - a plus
  • Knowledge of Design Software, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc. - a plus
  • Experience in higher education enrollment and marketing - a plus
