Albright College, a liberal arts college in Reading, PA, is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty position for Assistant Professor of Fashion Design or Instructor of fashion design depending upon candidate credentials. Candidate should be student-centric and enthusiastic about contributing to the success of a well-established and growing fashion department. The ideal candidate is a versatile teacher, with demonstrated teaching excellence, able to synthesize practical and academic experiences within a liberal arts education. Proficiency in all aspects of fashion design is required, including knowledge and experience in conceptual design, 3D design, textiles, clothing construction, pattern drafting, draping, tailoring and product development.

Essential Job Functions:

Teaching current technology and methods in design and apparel product development to undergraduates, and contributing to the development and growth of the fashion department through industry connections and development of experiential learning experiences for students.

Qualifications/Prerequisites:

• Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive and equitable Albright community, as described in Albright College’s Inclusivity and Equity Statement.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other industry design software such as Optitex 2D/3D design.

• Demonstrated teaching experience and/or, in the case of instructor, current fashion industry experience in product development and design.
• Tenure Track candidate would possess a PhD, MFA or MA/MS with demonstration of significant scholarship and professional work in that field. Instructor candidates must hold a Master’s degree.
