Responsibilities: The Library Systems Specialist supports the technical infrastructure that powers library systems and service.

  • Coordinates with the Information Technology & Innovation department to manage servers dedicated to library services.
  • Collects data from library systems; supports library faculty and staff requests for reports.
  • Participates in maintaining and providing enhancements to library systems such as the integrated library system (Alma/Primo) and other products.
  • Enhances the functionality, accessibility, and effectiveness of library website.
  • Participates in planning for and implementing new library systems and technologies.
  • Supports electronic resources systems and systems used to digitize resources.
  • Supports and enhances the creation and maintenance of digital instructional content.
  • Writes or customizes code as needed.
  • Supports planning and execution of digital initiatives undertaken by the WCSU Archives.
  • Provides administrative support for WCSU institutional repository.
  • Troubleshoots technology related issues and coordinates the maintenance and repair of equipment with the IT&I department when necessary.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in appropriate field (computer science, library science, data management, etc.); Four (4) years of professional experience in technology and technology management; Experience with integrated library systems; Experience with server administration, including configuration, updating, and protocols; Proven expertise with Web content associated software and applications (including but not limited to: PHP, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.); Proven expertise with data migrations, including experience with system APIs; Working knowledge of databases and querying data; Experience with version control and documentation; Experience working in an academic library setting; Experience with Alma integrated library system and Primo discovery system; Candidate must possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.

Salary & Benefits: Salary range is $68,581 – $109,472 and is commensurate upon candidates' experience.  WCSU offers a comprehensive benefits package.
