Executive Director, Student Success Initiatives


Location: Moscow

Pay Range: $94,057 per year or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management, the Executive Director for Student Success Initiatives provides leadership to academic support programs that directly impact student success and the retention goals and the mission of the institution. The Executive Director provides overall leadership and oversight of the Vandal Student Success program and specifically to the following areas within the unit:
  • Tutoring & College Success (TCS)
  • Academic Advising (AA)
  • Student Support Services (SSS-TRIO)
  • Student Athlete Support Services (SASS) Through strong collaboration between program staff within these areas and the Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management and the Deans of the Colleges, the Executive Director ensures that students experience a streamlined process for receiving academic advising, support services and a comprehensive array of academic assistance in a supportive, efficient, and timely manner. In addition to determining the overall departmental vision/direction, the Executive Director sets and oversees budgetary and spending priorities, has personnel management responsibilities for all departmental staff, and is responsible for retention assessment and improvement.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Master’s degree in field of study that would support the job requirements listed above • Experience in developing higher education academic success and retention strategies• Experience in public speaking and writing at a professional level • Administrative experience in an academic setting providing leadership to student support departments or retention programs• Experience managing and overseeing complex budgets• Experience managing student and professional employees• Experience working as a manager where problem-solving skills and ability to address the evolving and competing needs.• Experience working collaboratively with a wide range of constituencies at a managerial level

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Ph.D.• Experience administering TRiO grants and/or writing TRiO grants• Experience teaching and/or advising academically at-risk college students• Working knowledge of developmental education issues, first-generation student needs, learning styles, supplemental instruction.
