JOB SUMMARY

The College of Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking to fill a Corporate Relations Manager position.  This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relations with corporate representatives for the purpose of creating a robust industry relations program to sustain a new Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, the AI4OPT Institute.  The role will entail creating, managing, and growing an industrial partner program for the Institute, serving as a liaison with partners, the Institute Director, College leadership, and other affiliated entities, and overseeing and managing various Institute activities related to engaging with industry partners. This position will interact on a consistent basis with corporate executives, researchers, hiring managers, students, alumni, staff, faculty, College leadership, and Institute Director(s). 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support industry connections, engagement, and membership management activities for one or more NSF AI Institutes
  • Oversee management and growth of the industrial partner program, as well as partnerships with national laboratories, including project selection for collaboration. 
  • Work collaboratively with development officers to ensure the various aspects of industry relationships are managed appropriately.
  • Assist in identifying potential crossover between company interest and on-going research within the institutes
  • This position will assist with member recruitment, meeting logistics, etc.
  • Specific areas of responsibility: intellectual property, visitor coordination, membership benefits inquiries, non-disclosure agreements & material transfer agreements
  • Lead in-person and virtual event organization (e.g. Industry day, small meetings, large meetings, symposia, etc.)
  • Coordinate collaborations between the NSF AI Institutes and industry, foundations, and government entities
  • Assist in organizing company interest information and member documentation, including member agreements and cash and in-kind contributions
  • Monitor status of all contributions to the institute in collaboration with the Office of Development
  • Coordinate personnel scheduling
  • Manage ongoing personnel exchanges with collaborating national labs
  • Track funds from and maintain ongoing relationships with Foundations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four to five years of job-related experience

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Keen desire and aptitude to develop relationships, especially with industry partners
  • Excellent communication skills with an open approach to facilitate connections with industry partners
  • This job requires skills in effectively interacting with corporate executives, alumni, faculty and staff for the purpose of promoting institute research.
  • Skills in customer service and employer relations are required as are skills in relationship building, sales/marketing, communications, and presentation.
