Weatherhead School of Management
Non-tenure Track Faculty Position in Operations

The Department of Operations invites applicants for a non-tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Operations (a higher rank will be considered commensurate with qualifications) to begin August 2022. We seek candidates with potential for excellence in teaching in graduate and undergraduate programs. We particularly prefer an individual who has prior teaching and/or professional experience in Operations Management, Operations Research, or Statistics. We desire candidates who can help us to design and deliver courses primarily in our undergraduate program in management, the M.B.A. program, and also in our master's degree programs (MSM) in Supply Chain Management and Business Analytics. The potential to take a leadership position in the management of these programs and to participate in executive education is also desirable. The candidate should have a graduate degree in Operations/Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related area. A doctoral degree would be a plus. Having business and/or teaching experience, or other appropriate background to which business students would relate is desirable.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled and the applicant should e-mail a c.v., copies of written research papers (if available), evidence of teaching effectiveness (course evaluations, for example), and should also arrange for at least three letters of reference to be sent electronically to Ms. Pamela White at oprerecruitment@case.edu.

Applicants who are seeking a non-tenure track and/or tenure-track position in the Weatherhead School of Management’s Operations Department are asked to submit a statement explaining either:

A. How your research, teaching, and/or service have contributed to diversity, equity and inclusion within your scholarly field(s) and/or how your individual and/or collaborative efforts have promoted structural justice inside and outside institutions of higher learning.
This statement should also reflect on the ways in which your continued efforts will foster a culture of diversity, pluralism, and individual difference at Case Western Reserve University into the future.

OR

B. How you value diversity, equity, and inclusion within your research and discipline(s) and how your own scholarly work might contribute to structural justice inside and outside institutions of higher learning. This statement should also suggest how your work, while as a member of Case Western Reserve University, will contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion and how moving forward you intend to foster a culture of diversity pluralism, and individual difference.

The Department has a long and distinguished history and granted the first Ph.D. in operations research. The Weatherhead School's MBA and Undergraduate programs (in which the successful candidate would teach) are well ranked. The University is ten minutes from downtown Cleveland with world-class cultural venues within walking distance and excellent residential areas close by.
