The MSSU Department of Art and Design is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach Jewelry/Metalsmithing on campus beginning January 2022. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of making and teaching the art of jewelry making and silver/metalsmithing along with a Master’s degree in art, design or other related discipline area (M.F.A. preferred). Applicants must provide a detailed letter of application, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, artist statement, up to 20 images of current personal work, and 10-20 samples of student work in .pdf format with a list of works. Include copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts, as well as the names and contact information of three professional references. The Department’s Jewelry/Metalsmithing studio features a combination 3D printer, CNC router, laser cutter/etcher and is otherwise outfitted with the traditional tools and equipment for a range of jewelry and precious metalworking techniques and processes including: hot fabrication, cold fabrication, casting, chasing, enameling and stone cutting/polishing.
