The MSSU Department of Art and Design is seeking an Adjunct
Instructor to teach Jewelry/Metalsmithing on campus beginning
January 2022. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of making
and teaching the art of jewelry making and silver/metalsmithing
along with a Master’s degree in art, design or other related
discipline area (M.F.A. preferred). Applicants must provide a
detailed letter of application, curriculum vitae, statement of
teaching philosophy, artist statement, up to 20 images of current
personal work, and 10-20 samples of student work in .pdf format
with a list of works. Include copies of undergraduate and graduate
transcripts, as well as the names and contact information of three
professional references. Submit documents by visiting

contract is issued. Review of applications will begin immediately
and will continue until the position is filled. Employment is
contingent upon a background check.
The Department’s Jewelry/Metalsmithing studio features a
combination 3D printer, CNC router, laser cutter/etcher and is
otherwise outfitted with the traditional tools and equipment for a
range of jewelry and precious metalworking techniques and processes
including: hot fabrication, cold fabrication, casting, chasing,
enameling and stone cutting/polishing. MSSU’s vibrant campus
